Things were moving faster than they had before. Granted, at times in her life, it had seemed like things were moving too quickly—when she became queen, for example, or with Coram… But now it was different. As she flew through the icy air she felt that forces were gathering that did not involve just her, just her life, but that everyone’s lives were about to change dramatically. She would live longer than this, and looking back, perhaps it would not appear so, but right then seemed like the most important time in her life, before and after. But it always seemed to be like that.
