These are not necessarily books that came out in 2010, but rather books that I read for the first time in 2010. The books are listed in the order in which I read them. Find the full list of books I read here. Goodreads account here.

Also, Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness should be on here. I forgot about it. /shame

Artemis Fowl and Mockingjay! <3 There's a few books on this list I've been meaning to check out, too, so I'll have to get on that.

WAIT TIL HELEN COMES! OMG. I freaking love that book. I met the author when I was in elementary school. It's super creepy but awesome. Have you read A Time for Andrew?

I haven't. Funny story, really: when I was in first grade I checked Wait Till Helen Comes out of the library because I thought the cover looked pretty. My mother thought it would be too scary for me, so she made me return it. I only just remembered that whole event, so I went on a quest to find the book. And she was right. I wouldn't have been able to deal with it at the time.

Yeah. It's super creepy. I didn't read it until I bought it at the used bookstore when I was in high school. I used to LOVE A Time For Andrew. It's less creepy, but still has the same feel of Wait Til Helen Comes.

I'll definitely hunt it down, then. Thanks!

How was "Before I Fall"? I have that on my wishlist, too. ;)

I liked it. I've read mixed reviews of it, but I was mainly reading for the premise, which I thought was really well-done.

Yessss! Now I have to read all the things on this list that aren't already on my best-of list, heh. I just finished Ship Breaker yesterday, actually, and boy was that amazing. I love Paolo B., he needs to write more books ASAP.

Was Perfect Fifths really good? I read up through...the third one? I liked one and two tons, but then the one where she's starting college just fell really flat for me.

Also there's a distinct lack of Monsters of Men on this list. Did you just not read it yet?

Monsters of Men! Shoot! That should totally be on the list! ...I think I left it off of the list of what I read this year. But I did read it. And it was good.

As for Perfect Fifths, I discovered the series this summer and read the whole thing really fast, so it's a bit hard for me to distinguish between the books. But, yes, I liked it. I didn't like the one before it that much--I didn't really understand why Jessica was acting the way she was--but I thought Perfect Fifths had a very interesting premise, and that's a lot of what kept me reading. Plus I just really like Megan McCafferty's writing style.

Also, re: Paolo Bacigalupi: Yes.

Artemis Fowl!!!! Haha I haven't seen or heard of those books in so long. I was obsessed with the first ones, but after the fourth, I kind of lost interest. The author kept saying the series was over and then writing another book and I got tired of it lol. Is the new one really good compared to the first few?

This latest one was probably the worst in the series. In my opinion. It's very much a middle-of-the-series book, where some stuff happens but nothing major. I liked the one that came before it a lot, though.

But, eh, it's Artemis Fowl and the author weirdly ships Artemis/Holly in a way that I never thought he would, so I keep reading them anyway.
