She clings to him as if she’s clinging to life itself which, in a way, she is. He’s always been like life for her, even if that was what caused problems for them, in the end.

But she still admired his love of something, even if it drove them apart.

She clings to him because he’s the one thing she’s understood in all of this. He’s been the only familiar thing when nothing made sense and her world was destroyed.

And it had been her working to destroy him.

She knows, of course, that it wasn’t really her, that she hadn’t really had control, but she still feels like if she had fought harder, been stronger…

“I’m sorry,” she whispers.
